BarterBai is a product of Bicraw Consulting ("we", "our", or "us"), located at Bampslaan 1 PB 2, 3500 Hasselt, Belgium. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use BarterBai:

• Account information — name, email address, and profile photo from your sign-in provider (Apple, Google, or Facebook)
• Listing information — items you post for trade, descriptions, photos, and categories
• Trade activity — swap proposals, messages, and trade history
• Device information — device type and OS version for app functionality

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To match you with potential trade partners
• To enable communication between users for trades
• To improve app performance and fix issues
• To send notifications about trade activity (with your permission)

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:

• Other users — your display name and listing photos are visible to other users on the platform
• Service providers — we use Clerk for authentication and Convex for our backend database, both of which process data on our behalf
• Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect rights and safety

4. Social Login (Facebook)

If you sign in with Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Facebook. We do not receive your Facebook friends list, posts, or any other Facebook data. We use this information only to create and identify your BarterBai account.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing

7. Data Deletion

If you no longer wish to use BarterBai, you have the right to request deletion of all personal data associated with your account. This applies to data collected directly through the app as well as any data obtained through third-party login services such as Facebook.

To request deletion of your data, send an email to with the subject line "Delete My Data". Include the email address or username associated with your account so we can locate your records. hello@barterbai.com

Upon receiving your request, we will delete the following data within 30 days:

• Your account profile information (name, email, profile picture)
• All listings and trade history you have created
• Messages and chat history
• Any data obtained from third-party login providers (e.g. Facebook)

Once deletion is complete, we will send you a confirmation email. Some data may be retained if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, but only for the minimum period necessary.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and secure authentication via Clerk. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Children's Privacy

BarterBai is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
